Is TUPE the bogeyman of HR processes?
The mention of TUPE would often send shudders down my spine. Being charged with leading on outsourcing or insourcing and managing the TUPE process and subsequent integration of new faces or transfer out of valued colleagues. A labyrinth of legislation, complications and uncertainty for the poor folk this was being done to.
BUT.. it can be done well, it can be positive and it does, ultimately seek to protect employment - so why did I so often get the collywobbles at the mention of it?
