Tarot and Jade
Description
Welcome back to Every Day Tarot, your daily dive into the wisdom of the cards. Season 15 is all about tarot and crystals, and today we’re exploring the abundant and protective energy of jade.
Jade has long been associated with peace, luck, and longevity. It is a sacred stone of the goddess, a symbol of compassion and fairness, and a companion for those seeking harmony in life and love.
In this episode, we explore jade’s myths, magical correspondences, and its resonance with tarot archetypes of truth, balance, and devotion.
What we explore in this episode:
- The myths and magical qualities of jade
- Astrological associations with Venus, the Moon, Libra, Virgo, and Gemini
Jade: Myth, Magic & Meaning
Jade refers to two different minerals—nephrite and jadeite—both known for their strength, beauty, and resilience. Across the globe, jade has been valued above gold, revered as a stone of fertility, peace, luck, and eternity.
In Mesopotamia, jade appeared in the descent of Inanna; in China, it was carved into images of Kuan Yin, goddess of compassion; and in Central America, the Aztec goddess Chalchiuhtlicue was believed to dwell within jade itself.
In magical practice, jade has been used for:
Attracting luck, prosperity, and abundance
Protection for mothers and children
Inviting fairness, truth, and justice
Supporting compassion, romance, and healing
Jade’s elemental signatures are Earth, Water, and Spirit. Its astrological associations include Venus, the Moon, Libra, Virgo, and Gemini. It is sacred to the goddess archetypes of love, the Earth Mother, and the Muse.
Jade & the Tarot
Jade resonates with the archetypes of The Empress, The Lovers, and Justice—cards that speak to harmony, abundance, and balance. Like the Empress, jade encourages growth and nurturance. Like Justice, it calls us toward fairness, truth, and integrity. And like The Lovers, it opens the heart to compassion, connection, and beauty.
Working with jade alongside tarot can help us ground love in action, protect what matters most, and trust the flow of abundance.
