In part five, Det. D'Azarian and the GAP cops are officially placed on leave and instructed to stop all investigations. Dilly naturally makes copies of her files and decides a week of "vacation" is just enough time to wrap this whole mess up. Meanwhile, Girardi is avoiding the station while he begins his own dive into finding his detective's killer. Dilly manages to use her LASD resources to make a connection to the could-be gunman, and presents this info to the GAP cops, gaining her entrance into the posse. She then heads out to check out a lead suspect's safehouse only to run into a storm of bullets and another curve in the mystery.
