Next up on The CAPB Podcast is the incredibly talented Heidi Burton, an RAF Veteran Photographer and the founder of Handbags & Home.
"A professional photographer since 1997, I was in the Royal Air Force, and living in military barracks most of the time with no room for a sewing machine. The best I could do was a little bit of cross stitch, as that was all I had room for..!! "After a while I realised that a woman can only have so many bags (if thats possible!) , and I started to give them as gifts to family members.
In 2012 I left the RAF and set up my business as a freelance photographer, which then gave me more time to fit in my sewing. Then people started to take notice of photos posted on my personal social media accounts, and started to put in orders, and before I knew it "Handbags and Home" was born!
Handbags & Home make bespoke made to order bags out of old military uniforms, creating beautiful fashion accessories that can be worn with Mess Dress and for special occasions.
As a small veteran owned business, Heidi is an inspiration, we hope you enjoy this episode.
