Prof. Karen Avraham, who was born and raised in North America, is the first female Dean of TAU’s esteemed Faculty of Medical & Health Sciences, overseeing the operations of a major training and research institution in Israel. The faculty is responsible for the training of health care practitioners and researchers, with over 5K students.

Prof. Avraham is also a Professor at the Department of Human Molecular Genetics & Biochemistry at her Faculty. She also serves as the Drs. Sarah and Felix Dumont Chair for Research of Hearing Disorders and is a member of the Sagol School of Neuroscience, the Safra Center for Bioinformatics and the Jan Koum Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology.
