Publisher's Summary:
LawDog had the honor of representing law and order in the Texas town of Bugscuffle as a sheriff's deputy, where he became notorious for, among other things, the famous Case of the Pink Gorilla Suit. In The LawDog Files, he chronicles his official encounters with everything from naked bikers, combative eco-warriors, suicidal drunks, respectful methheads, prison tattoo artists, and creepy children to six-foot chickens and lethal chihuahuas.
The LawDog Files range from the bittersweet to the explosively hilarious, as LawDog relates his unforgettable experiences in a laconic, self-deprecating manner that is funny in its own right. The audiobook is more than mere entertainment, it is an education in two English dialects, Police and Texas Country. And underlying the humor is an unmistakable sympathy for society's less fortunate - and in most cases, significantly less intelligent - whose encounters with the law are an all-too-frequent affair.

You'll enjoy it!
I must say I have been reading these shorts since the early 2000s on TFL, and it's great to see them finally collected in a single place. By turns hilarious, poignant, and thought provoking they show the life of a deputy sheriff in small town West Texas, and the miscreants one encounters in the course of duty. It's a defacto tribute to all those who wear the badge, day in and day out, and the things and people they have to put up with.
Highly recommended!

Lawdog has become my favorite cop, and one of my favorite writers
Lawdog has become my favorite cop, and one of my favorite writers. You've never seen such wit and skill with words bring hilarious and previously unfathomable cop experiences in the charming town of Bugscuffle to life before this. His Africa book is equally worth reading. My only regret about Lawdog's writing is that there isn't more of it. I'm hoping he'll make enough money on the books that he can retire from crimefighting and have more time to write, but I'm also hoping that doesn't happen too soon because I want more funny things to happen to him first.

Old school Storytelling, by a master of the craft.
This is storytelling pure and simple. It takes me back to my younger days, when my dad and his friends would get together and tell hunting stories, or work stories of the oddness of the military. It has nothing to do with the military, but it's that same feel. That feel of blue collar workers unwinding and just shooting the breeze. And if you have been lucky enough to experience this by someone who really knew how to tell a good story. Who really knew how to be entertaining without being showy, then Lawdog will be a Completely familiar, and welcome, experience.

ROTFLMAO!
I went through this book in one sitting laughing like a loon for the whole thing! So do not read this in public! I've read LawDog a while back, it's fantastic to see all of these stories in one place.

Very enjoyable collection of short humorous stories.
This is a great collection of short stores. These from Lawdogs blog. It is an overused cliche that a story made you laugh out loud but some of these stories really did. (to the point that it was hard to breath).
