During our time in Delhi, we celebrated the tenth anniversary of the Paramhansa Yogananda Charitable Trust, which supports homeless widows in Vrindavan by providing shelter, food, and medical care. The Trust currently helps not only women in their homes but also reaches out to around three thousand additional “widow-mothers” and sadhus. Despite the growing number of those in need, the dedicated staff continues their crucial work, even enduring the challenges presented by the pandemic and recent flooding of the Jamuna River. They have gone above and beyond to deliver essential supplies to the stranded, saving countless lives in the process. Their compassion reminds us that, in a world often driven by self-interest, we can stand united with determination, love, and service. Swami Kriyananda’s song “Joined in Prayer” beautifully expresses how, together, we can create positive change and bring God’s love into the world. Ultimately, by supporting one another and addressing the suffering around us, we can fulfill life's true purpose: to live for God and share His love with everyone we encounter.
