Description

Colonel Jamie Bogle and Charles Coulombe join Vendée Radio to examine the tragedy of the First World War and the Church's role in it. They discuss the efforts of Pope Benedict XV and Blessed Emperor Karl of Austria to negotiate peace, the frustration of these peace efforts by malign forces, the Christmas truce of 1914, the ministry of battlefield chaplains and the effects of the war on religious sensibility in the British Empire.
