Toddler Mom Krystal Martinez Talks Conscious Parenting and Parenting Your Way!
Description
This rich parenting conversation talks about the value of learning to respond instead of react to your kids, the very real feelings of failing as a mom, and taking time for yourself without guilt. We aren't taught how to hold space for ourselves or how to feel our feelings instead of suppressing feelings. It's OK for parents to ask for help. The story as moms that "I'm not good enough" is pervasive. Learn to trust your instincts with your kids. Her son had a tongue tie and if she hadn't followed her instincts and had corrective surgery it could have resulted in speech issues as he got older. She learned so much on her parenting journey including how to let go and the need to be right. Krystal was a vegan and was so convinced her way was the way, but experience has taught her that it's OK to change your mind, to follow your inner guidance even if it is leading you to change your beliefs like eating a hamburger because her body craved meat protein and allowing her son and not adhering to the strict beliefs she once held. Adaptability and flexibility allows moms not to be so hard on themselves. Krystal is a creative writer and you can follow her blog here: https://www.TheUMom.com which stands for The Unconventional Mom. You can also follow her on Instagram @The_U_Mom and while she talks a lot about parenting it all comes back to you as a Mom to get curious and ask yourself why you are feeling coming up for you as a parent. These could be feelings of not being good enough, failure, stress, fatigue. Whatever it is, feel your feelings and release the judgment. Let go of the negative self talk, and nurture yourself.
