Why do we wake up on our right side after a night's sleep?
Description
In this segment, host Sowjanya explains the scientific and superstitious reason why some people wake up on their side after a good night's rest
The inclination to wake up on the right side after a night's sleep isn't universally applicable but has some cultural, personal, or physical influences. In traditional Hindu belief, starting the day by placing the right foot first on the floor is considered auspicious. Biomechanically, sleeping on the right side may aid digestion and alleviate pressure on vital organs. Some suggest it prevents acid reflux due to the stomach's positioning. However, the side people wake up on can vary due to comfort, habits, and the body's natural repositioning during sleep, making it a subjective practice rather than a universal phenomenon.
