In this episode, host Rachel Foy dives deep into a topic that often flies under the radar in the weight loss conversation: emotional eating.Rachel shares her personal journey with emotional eating and challenges the outdated idea that it's not a “real” problem worth addressing. She breaks down exactly what emotional eating is, why willpower and discipline aren’t enough to solve it and why even appetite-suppressing medications like GLP-1s don’t get to the root cause. You’ll learn why so many of us are stuck soothing our feelings with food and why this has more to do with emotional regulation skills we never learned growing up than with a lack of control. If you’ve ever found yourself reaching for snacks when you’re stressed, lonely or just overwhelmed no matter how much you promise yourself not to this episode will help you understand why. Rachel outlines how to start rewiring your brain and building healthier coping strategies, so you can finally become a “normal eater” and achieve lasting freedom from food struggles.
In today’s episode, we’re diving into one of the most overlooked aspects of weight loss: your beliefs. Rachel shares why traditional advice like “just eat less” or “have more willpower” never gets to the root of the issue. Instead, it’s the subconscious beliefs you hold about food, your body and weight loss that truly drive your habits and keep you stuck in cycles of self-sabotage and yo-yo dieting.Rachel unpacks what beliefs really are, how they’re formed and reveals common ones that might be sabotaging your progress without you even realising it. She explains how your actions always match your beliefs and offers eye-opening examples that will help you understand why willpower alone isn’t enough for lasting change. By the end of this episode, you’ll see why shifting your beliefs can transform your relationship with food and make healthy choices feel almost effortless.
Today we're diving into a topic that’s front of mind for so many: What happens after you’ve reached your goal weight with the help of GLP-1 medications like Ozempic, Wegovy, or Mounjaro? Whether you’re riding the excitement of hitting your target or feeling a nagging fear about the possibility of regaining weight this episode is for you. We’ll break down how GLP-1s actually work in both your brain and your body, explore why weight regain can be common after stopping these medications, and most importantly unpack what it really takes to keep your results for life. From understanding the psychological and biological shifts that happen in your body, to practical strategies for rebuilding trust with your hunger cues and emotional coping tools, you’ll walk away from this episode with a clearer roadmap for maintaining lasting change without food fear, obsession, or unnecessary restriction.INTERESTED IN MORE SUPPORT?Reach out to me via social media about the GLP1 specific eating psychology based program Mind Over Meds. The binge eating cycle is really common. When you understand what it is and what's actually going on, you can honestly start taking the steps to break it once and for all!In this episode we look at the 4 stages of the binge eating cycle and which two are the most important for you to focus on if you want to find your freedom around food.
Learning how to stop binge eating and feeling so obsessed about food is not really about focusing on the food as much as you think. Repairing your connection to your body is one of the areas which often gets ignored (in the mainstream anyway) but it's one we spend a lot of time and focus on in our Soul Fed Woman® Program. If you cannot connect to your body this is going to cause an issue in some way, especially when it comes to finding peace with food.Hunger is in the body, if you can't feel it/sense it, what's going to happen?Satisfaction is in the body, if you can't feel it/sense it, what's going to happen?Self awareness around food choices, hunger cues, hunger levels are all in the body, if you can't feel/sense, what's going to happen? You end up having a relationship with food that you are constantly fighting. For most women, repairing that connection to their body is about practice, intention and having the tools to do so yet for others, what we actually need to focus on is healing trauma. When someone experiences trauma, regardless of what that trauma may have been, the spiritual self leaves the body and creates disconnection or disassociation, meaning there is a lack of connection.
Binge eating is symbolic.I'd love to hear your thoughts and experience on this! Come over to Instagram and share it with me! I'm @soulfedwoman You can now also find me on TikTok @soulfedwoman
