Danica is a therapist in Dallas, TX who co-owns Empowered Healing Dallas, a private practice where she provides trauma-informed therapy using an interpersonal and attachment-based approach.  Danica has particular clinical and research interest in attachment trauma, sexual assault, intimate partner violence, vicarious trauma, and oppression. Danica is also passionate about training and provides education to other mental health providers in the areas of building an advocate identity, social class, size-based discrimination, first-generation college student experiences, and trauma-informed strategies in clinical practice.   Shannon Miller is a traumatic grief survivor. Five years ago her 23 year old daughter was murdered. Through her grief journey Shannon has felt shame and guilt from others who thought she wasn't grieving the right way, and she also felt shame and guilt from herself for not somehow preventing her daughter's murder.
