Over New Years, I went away on a trip with a group of people, and literally everything that could go wrong went wrong (the only thing left to go wrong would be if the both sank).
It would be very easy to go into that mindset of "other people have it worse", but that is just gaslighting yourself, and doing to you what was done to the child version of you.

The reality is, you can't have balance in an extreme sport - no matter if that is body building, CrossFit, cycling etc. As Katrin Davidsdottir famously said "Champions do not have balance".
There are however lots of things you can do to make the road back to balance post comp easier and less stressful for yourself - the women I speak about in the podcast are proof of this.

Leah was diagnosed with ADHD at a young age, and I am someone who thought she had ADHD for a long time, only to realise it was a trauma response.
When your nervous system is out of balance, you're more likely to experience overwhelm, anxiety, and heightened stress—similar to the symptoms of ADHD. Both conditions can leave you feeling stuck in fight, flight, or freeze mode, constantly shifting between hyperactivity and shutdown.This creates a cycle where it feels impossible to slow down, relax, or manage emotions, which makes it harder to focus, stay organized, or make decisions—hallmarks of ADHD. Recognizing this connection can be the key to better understanding your behavior and finding strategies to regulate both your mind and body for a more balanced life.
