In this episode we are talking about negative self talk and body image and how to shut down our inner mean girls. While social media deserves some of the blame for body image distortions and unhappiness, we dive into how negative self talk and beliefs are formed very early in childhood and why we need to question those beliefs in order to find body acceptance and self love. We each share some of the ways we did this, what Jenn does with her girls, and what we use with our clients to help them find sustainable self love and happiness.

Many of our clients have confided that their personal body image contributes to feeling stuck when trying to make changes to improve their health. No, we aren’t suggesting you make out with your food… KISS stands for Keep it Super Simple, so no gourmet meal tips in this episode, but we share tons of ways to make your meals super quick and super delicious (just throw some feta on it - feta makes it betta!) Meal prep queen Amy gives her secrets for a 30 minute meal prep to help you see that you can do this (even if you don’t know how to cook). We remind you that practice does not make perfect, but progress. Ultimately we want you to do what works best for your family, but we had a great time chatting about things that have worked well and a few failures too.

Then they dive into the topic that all of their clients have been talking about - “How do I find “me time” without feeling guilty.” After running different groups and working with clients last year, they found that this topic came up over and over again and was a major roadblock for mamas working on their own health goals. They share 6 major areas of ways moms can find that elusive “me time” and how to stop feeling guilty about taking it. Don’t worry, you don’t need to do all 6 at once to get some quiet time to yourself to recharge, but the more you master, the more time you’ll have.
