In this episode, I interview Sarah Randall, intuitive eating and mobility coach. Sarah walks us through her journey with disordered eating as it pertains to her experiences of uncertainty in college and why she turned to food for control. She explains how she overcame her need for perfection and control with food and her body, and how she uses her experience to help people do exactly what she did: RECOVER!
Sarah's story is a great reminder that disordered eating thoughts and patterns can show up for anyone, and it's important to give ourselves grace through the process.

Emily shares the ups and downs of working clinical as a dietitian and then starting her very own private practice. NEWS FLASH: her path was not linear nor was her business built over night!
You know that idea you have in your head but you're too scared to start? This episode will give you every reason to GO AFTER IT.

Zach and I answer YOUR questions and chat about the pressure we've been putting on ourselves lately to have "everything all figured out." From our schooling, to our careers, to meaningful relationships, let's just say we do NOT have everything figured out. If you've been feeling behind, off track or like what you're doing isn't aligning with how you want to feel, listen to this episode.
In this episode, I interview Leah Kern, RD to address the stigma that is cannabis use and binge eating. We break down WHY binge eating with cannabis use is so prevalent amongst those who struggle with disordered eating, and exactly how Leah works with clients to overcome this.
Leah Kern is an anti-diet dietitian and certified intuitive eating counselor who specializes in helping people heal their relationships with food and body. Her approach to coaching is firmly evidence-based, routed in the Health At Every Size (HAES) & Intuitive Eating frameworks. In her private practice, Leah teaches her clients to harness their body’s innate wisdom to govern how they eat and live. Leah believes that the work involved with unraveling years of conditioning in diet culture and learning to come home to one’s body is deeply spiritual work and she treats it as such. It is Leah’s mission to help her clients make peace with food and body so they can unlock their most aligned and fulfilling lives.

In this episode, I interview Kari Coffindaffer, founder and owner of RINSE Cycle and goal setting coach for entrepreneurs.
The #1 word for this episode is: COURAGE.
We talk all about how Kari's career path came to be (if you're struggling with the whole "what I want to do with my life" thing, this is for you), the inspiration and push for RINSE cycle's opening, Kari's experience with anorexia and body image struggles, and what it means for RINSE to be a size inclusive studio.
This episode is jam packed with ups, downs, inspiration, purpose... and most importantly, the courage it takes to step into the person you were always meant to be.
ENJOY.
As I recordered this episode with Kim Powers, owner of Leeta Ruth Boutique in Ludlow, KY... I thought to myself, "Damn, I needed this."
And I know you do, too.
In this episode, Kim shares her past struggles with body confidence and disordered eating as a collegiate athlete turned mom, entrepreneur, and yogi. She opens up about what it felt like to be stuck in a place that felt unauthentic to who she was and where she wanted to be. She shares how Leeta Ruth came to be, and the mission behind the boutique that makes buying clothing so much more personal and empowering. I think we all know how it feels to walk into a dressing room with hope of finding our next piece, only to leave empty handed feeling discourage and disgusted with our body.
Kim is changing that for us. Hit play on this episode to find out what it means to feel empowered, energized and in tune with your body as it pertains to clothing.

In this week's episode, I answer a question from a listener. This is from Kalie:
“I was wondering if you had any tips for how to get over the deep desire to be super skinny? It sounds dramatic, but I think the reason I haven’t been successful with “recovery” is because deep down, I want to be smaller. I feel like I can’t get over this wanting to be skinny”
I hear this all the time as an ex-dieter turned intuitive eater:
“I can never become an intuitive eater because all I’ll do is eat cookies, or cake, or pizza, or ice cream 24/7”
Look, I get it. I felt the same way as you. I was scared that once I gave up all of my food rules, I too would never eat something green again. It’s a valid concern, right? Because we’ve been conditioned for SO long by diet culture that we need to be on our game 24/7. We need to be tracking all of our food. We need to avoid certain foods. We need to order the healthiest thing on the menu. We need to be strict. We can’t mess up. We need to be perfect.
In this episode, I show you exactly why none of this is true. I explain the step-by-step process YOU can take to become an intuitive eater and no longer fear only eating sweets. Plus I've included a mini journaling session in this episode as well!

This statement can be applied in almost every aspect of life (my life at least). "Take the small wins."
As a Type 3 enneagram, perfectionist at heart, over-achiever and rule follower (I am working on letting go of most of these things), I know what it feels like to bite off more than you can chew, to expect PERFECT results, to keep your eyes on the end result without being present throughout the journey.
In this mini-episode, I take you through a short mindfulness practice to help YOU celebrate your small wins.

Have you watched Bama Rush? In this episode, I’m sharing alllll of my thoughts about the new HBO documentary. I address the “ideal beauty standard” that’s set for girls during sorority rush and how the show brought it home through the story of the director. It’s heartfelt. Surprising. Sad. And eye opening all in one. Give it a watch before listening! CLICK THE LINK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR MY DIGITAL GUIDE WAITLIST: https://emily-beal.ck.page/3e95e80f8e
You all requested, and I delivered. Zach is back on the podcast!!! In this episode, we talk all about the early days when we first started dating. How I opened up to him about my food struggles, how he RESPONDED to those struggles, how being vulnerable and transparent in a relationship is healthy, and how helping your partner through recovery can be a really amazing thing.
ENJOY.
"I want to study nutrition, but I have disordered eating/an eating disorder. How do I go about this?"
Man oh man. Okay.
To the people reaching out and asking me this question. Thank you. This is SUCH a fair question. And thank you for being proactive. For being aware of your situation and knowing that studying nutrition may not be the best thing for your recovery right now.
I’m going to break this topic down as someone who HAD disordered eating and went into nutrition. Let's get into it.
In this episode, I give you the exact steps I took to start my own podcast so you can do the same (without the research and the headache). If you've been wanting to start a podcast for awhile now but don't know where to start, then you're in the right place. From picking your topic, to choosing a podcast platform, to recording and uploading, I cover it all. Don't be afraid to chase your goals and JUST START.
Vacations are meant to be enjoyed… right? Then why do they feel so freaking hard sometimes? Whether you’re a perfectionist with your schedule. Whether you’re struggling with your mental health. Whether you’re recovering from disordered eating… This episode is for you.
Let's NORMALIZE HAVING HARD FEELINGS ON VACATIONS. You don’t have to be “on” 24/7. You can be grateful for the vacation and still be sad or anxious at the same time. In this episode, I give you 8 tangible action tips you can implement for your next getaway. Let's cope with our emotions instead of pushing them away.
Is there even such a thing?
If you've been questioning if your relationship with exercise is healthy, then this episode is for you.
I break down the common signs to look for if you (or someone else) is exercising excessively with the sole intention to manipulate your body. This is a great check-list to run through before the next time you move your body.
Exercise is meant to be enjoyed, not used as a punishment or regimen to "keep you on track."
Can you be an intuitive eater and still care about your health? Can you be an intuitive eater and still want to work out? Can you be an intuitive eater and still ensure you’re getting what your body needs?
The answer is yes.
In this episode, I break down the common myth that intuitive eating means "throwing in the towel on your health." Intuitive eating gets you closer to putting your health first... not by forcing it, restricting certain foods, or exercising like crazy.
Having doubts about intuitive eating? This episode is for you!
In this episode, I address a topic I see come up time and time again. Should you weigh yourself?
I think you know what my answer is.
If you're looking for permission to throw out the scale and start living your life again. Well, this is your episode.
I give you my tried and true tips for walking away from that little piece of equipment on your bathroom floor, and finally start finding your worth in other things that have nothing to do with your weight.
Nope, not all dieters are the same, surprisingly. There’s different levels and layers to this. This is why it can be really hard to identify if someone is struggling with their relationship with food. We just may not notice it!
After experiencing diet culture first hand and having many friends and family members who have also been through it with me, I’ve determined that there are 4 main types of dieters.
Are you ready to find out what those are?
See you in there!

When I asked what’s holding you back from healing your relationship with food, almost every single one of the responses said, “I’m afraid to gain weight.” Does that sound about right? Well, as someone who's been through recovery (and gained weight!) I can tell you it's not as bad as it seems. In fact, it's freeing.
In this episode, I share a story I've never told before. One that has stuck with me to this day. One that made me become just a little more self aware of the way my body compared to others. The way it moved. The way it looked. A story that I hope no one will ever have to experience, but unfortunately, I feel like I'm not alone in this one. Here's me being vulnerable and opening up for the first time.
