Neil Elliott's Journey from Depression to Spiritual Awakening
In this episode of the EZ Conversations Podcast, host Furkhan welcomes guest Neil Elliott, a professional engineer, to discuss his profound spiritual journey. Neil shares his life story, from the challenges of growing up without a father and working as an engineer to experiencing a deep, dark depression in his 40s. He narrates how meditative practices and spiritual books helped him move from a place of despair to one of inner peace, unconditional love, and non-judgment. Neil emphasizes the importance of experiencing rather than labelling spiritual journeys and how connectedness to source, meditation, and inner guidance can transform one's life. He also highlights the significance of being open to different paths to spiritual enlightenment and trusting the process for profound personal growth.
To any outsider, D. Neil Elliott was highly educated, owned a profitable consulting firm, had a successful career, and had a fantastic wife and family. But things were not all they seemed to be … Neil was facing many challenges. In a phrase, he was in a dark place. Quite by accident, he discovered a higher road. He found the key to transforming his life as he travelled that road.
Neil read hundreds of self-help and spiritual books and took self-development courses for nearly thirty years. While all offered hope for change and improvement, nothing fulfilled his needs or genuinely delivered on its promises.
Neil’s desire—and his new mission in life—is to share the knowledge he gained and the process he used on his journey to self-awareness, together with the blueprint document he discovered that was instrumental in transforming his life. He wants to give you, regardless of your station in life, the tools and opportunity to empower yourself, transform your life, and draw peace, joy, love, and prosperity into your situation and environment. Neil believes that as more and more people follow this Higher Road to true spiritual perfection, a New Era of Love and Peace will dawn for everyone worldwide.

In this episode of the EZ Conversations podcast, Furkhan welcomes Dr. John Lewis to discuss his extensive journey in health and wellness. Dr. Lewis shares his background, from childhood sports to becoming a drug-free competitive bodybuilder and later transitioning into academics and research on nutrition and exercise. Key highlights include his insights on the misconceptions surrounding sugar consumption, the differentiation between various sugars, and the beneficial polysaccharides in aloe vera and rice bran. The conversation also touches on the importance of combining nutrition and exercise, the impact of processed and natural sugars, and practical advice on supplementation and managing chronic conditions like diabetes through dietary choices.
Much of Dr. Lewis’s research has focused on evaluating the effects of nutrition, dietary supplements, and exercise on human health. He and his colleagues have been continually searching for ways to help people achieve and maintain health through natural treatments that align with our physiology. A primary stimulus for the origin of Dr Lewis Nutrition™ occurred after Dr. Lewis ran his landmark study on how an aloe polysaccharide multi-nutrient complex improved cognitive and immune functioning after 12 months in persons with moderate to severe Alzheimer’s disease, leading to the creation of the dietary supplement, Daily Brain Care. Daily Brain Care showed clinically and statistically significant improvements in cognition according to the ADAS-cog cognition score and statistically significant improvements in inflammation (according to TNFα and VEGF), immune function (according to the CD4/CD8 ratio), and adult stem cells (according to CD14+ cells). His seminal publication from the study in the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease spurred him to leave academics and pursue a science-based business career and enabled him to be selected for a widely-acclaimed TEDxMiami talk.

In this episode of the EZ Conversations podcast, we are joined by Haven, a podcaster and entrepreneur from Los Angeles, who shares her journey and insights on balancing family life, career, and self-care. Haven delves into her entrepreneurial venture running a virtual assistance company and the genesis of her podcast, 'Haven,' which addresses societal issues, relationships, and personal growth. The discussion covers the importance of self-care, marriage and parenting dynamics, balancing multiple roles, and dealing with societal pressures. Haven's authentic storytelling and practical advice offer listeners a relatable and insightful experience.
Haven has always been an inquisitive person. She was the kid who would ditch her family and go to the front of the tour group to learn all she could from the guide. Now she's been married to her high school sweetheart for 12 years and has two kids who have morphed her Instagram into their fan account page, but that quest to learn never went away. Most recently, she enjoys taking popular topics and dissecting them over a matcha latte with her girlfriends, but now she records those conversations in podcast form in her show "Haven!" Topics from relationships (is it expected to fight over how forks go in a dishwasher every day of my life?), parenting (how can I "gentle parent" while being physically assaulted by my toddler?), body image (are we botoxing now??) and spirituality (do I still hold my same beliefs I did 10 years ago?) are all on the table to be looked at, explored, turned over, and welcomed. She won't necessarily find the answers but truly believes the questions hold the power.

In this episode of the EZ Conversations podcast, Andy shares his transformative journey of overcoming alcohol addiction and embracing a life full of adventure. Growing up in the Shetland Islands, Andy developed a lifelong addiction to alcohol despite achieving a successful career in various industries. His turning point came in his 50s, triggered by a profound realization inspired by Michael Jackson's 'Man in the Mirror'. Andy discusses how he leveraged neuroscience and a personal commitment to change his life, leading to adventures like cycling the Tour de France course and reaching Everest base camp. Throughout the conversation, Andy emphasizes the importance of resilience, embracing vulnerability, and the power of gradual, mindful progress. His story serves as an inspiration for anyone seeking to overcome personal challenges and pursue extraordinary goals.
A heavy drinker from age 13, Andy's life was dominated by alcohol for nearly 40 years. Despite a hugely successful and award-winning career across the healthcare spectrum, inside, he was falling apart. He tried 'everything' to regain control of his drinking - AA, Hypnotherapy, Counselling, his Doctor - and when none of it worked, he assumed he was broken and unfixable. One day, inspiration came from the most unusual of places - the Michael Jackson song, 'The Man in the Mirror'. This started a voyage of self-discovery and learning to work with the dark forces within him rather than beating himself up relentlessly. His turnaround in his relationship with alcohol was so profound it inspired him to seek new challenges - taking on the entire course of the Tour de France for a children's charity, mountain biking across the Arctic Circle, and, in 2023, riding his bike to Everest Base Camp to inspire others that sobriety brings joy and fulfilment back into your life."

In this episode of the EZ Conversations podcast, Furkhan welcomes Philip Zodiotes, a businessman, father, grandfather, and devout Christian from Virginia. Philip shares his personal story of being embroiled in a legal battle to protect a child from abuse, which led to a three-year imprisonment for aiding and abetting international parental kidnapping. He reflects on his faith journey, how it has provided him strength, and his ongoing fight against what he sees as an agenda to normalize adult-child sexual relations. The discussion also delves into broader societal issues, including the legal system's shortcomings and the need for public awareness and support in safeguarding children.
In 2012, the Obama administration, in collusion with the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), targeted Philip Zodhiates, a Christian business owner, and Response Unlimited, his business, in an attempt to silence and bankrupt him. Since 1979, Philip and his company have been helping non-profit organizations raise funds for worthwhile causes. He and his wife Kathie have raised six grown children and now have three grandchildren.
This lawfare against Philip Zodhiates is an alarming and ongoing case every American should be concerned about who wants to protect children from becoming susceptible to the advances of sexual predators!
On top of that, Philip Zodhiates is now defending himself against a lawsuit for millions of dollars because the former partner of the mother claims she was denied her “parental rights,” even though credible evidence points to the fact that she is a pedophile, something the Vermont courts chose to ignore to further a nefarious agenda of advancing the normalization of adult-child sexual relations.
It turns out that Philip Zodhiates is now caught in the crosshairs of that agenda, being litigated by the SPLC as they go about seeking a legal precedent in support of the left's attempt to legitimize adult-child sex. Using a federal court in Burlington, Vermont and a progressive judge, the SPLC may succeed if good men stay silent and the plaintiff, with the help of SPLC, wins this case.

In this episode of the EZ Conversations podcast, host Furkhan explores the rich and complex intersections of psychology, philosophy, and Buddhism with retired psychologist and author Dan Chappell. Dan shares his journey of linking modern Western psychotherapy with the philosophies of Nietzsche, the Buddha, and ancient Chinese thought. They discuss the idea of thinking beyond the personal self, the nuances within the concept of mindfulness, the significance of awareness, and the broader implications for modern psychology. The conversation delves into how historical philosophies can inform current societal challenges, the role of meaningful practices, and how we might achieve deeper contentment and unity in today's divided world.
Dr. Daniel Chapelle, a psychologist with over three decades of experience, is the author of seven books that combine psychology, philosophy, history, and religion, including Meditative Self-Care; The Necessity of Unhappiness-A Paradox; Karma for Westerners; Nietzsche and the Buddha: Different Lives, Same Ideas (How Nietzsche May Yet Become the West's Own Buddha); Nietzsche and Psychoanalysis; and The Soul In Everyday Life.
These writings are not separate items with no connection between them. Together, they are a sustained attempt to respond to Nietzsche's central challenge, his famous thought of the eternal return of all things. With it, Nietzsche asked his readers a personal question that would lay bare their innermost feelings and thoughts about their existence. He asked: How would you feel and what would you think if you had to live your life over and over, again and again, endlessly and without anything new or different in it? How could you become so well disposed to your life and yourself to welcome this idea?
Chapelle has a dual background in theoretical or philosophical psychology and clinical psychology. He received his doctorate from the Institute of Philosophic Studies at the University of Dallas. He has over 30 years of experience in clinical consulting practice.
An American, he was born in Belgium. He resides in New Bedford, MA. For more information, please see: www.meditativeselfcare.com

In this insightful episode of the EZ Conversations podcast, Andy Brown, a former Scottish police officer with 30 years of service, mostly in the Highlands and Islands, delves into the intricacies of negotiation and crisis management. Sharing valuable lessons from his extensive career, 15 years of which he served as a crisis and hostage negotiator, Andy discusses the importance of a negotiation mindset, active listening, honesty, and trust. He recounts tense moments from his career, including negotiating with terrorists and facilitating evacuations during the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan. Andy also highlights the significance of maintaining mental health and shares personal practices such as meditation, walking in nature, and family support that have helped him stay grounded in highly stressful situations. Finally, Andy offers wisdom for young professionals entering first responder roles, emphasizing humility, empathy, and learning from experienced colleagues.
Former Commander, Chief Inspector (retd.) Andrew B Brown is an internationally renowned negotiator with specialist knowledge and experience in dealing with kidnap for ransom and hostage/crisis incidents, particularly in humanitarian environments; in designing conflict de-escalation skills for field operations and acting as an expert witness to judicial inquiries on the response to hostage-taking.
A Fellow of the Chartered Management and Security Institutes, he has developed advanced negotiation and crisis leadership skills for major corporations, public bodies, and Olympic sports coaches. His doctoral studies and experience in Afghan and African kidnappings have led him to research, critique, and advise INGOs on how to prepare, prevent, and respond to the threat of international kidnapping.
As a Fulbright Alumnus, he continues to teach advanced negotiation tactics to many law enforcement agencies, including NYPD, USMS and the FBI. Published in his field, he remains an Advisor to the Editorial Board of the Crisis Response Journal.
