Welcome back to the self compassion series here on You Out Loud podcast. In part one we talked about how you what self compassion is, we went back to childhood, and talked about self kindness. Just a reminder of what self compassion is:


Self-compassion is extending compassion to one's self in instances of perceived inadequacy, failure, or general suffering. Kristin Neff has defined self-compassion as being composed of three main elements – self-kindness, common humanity, and mindfulness.


Today we are talking about the second main element, common humanity.
