David X., U.S. Army Special Forces officer, has some great stories to tell, and great experience to share, but it’s not all about HALO jumping and snake eating. In fact, his experience in mission planning and execution, personnel management and dealing with stress in extreme circumstances are lessons anyone can learn from.

I met David because he bought a house from me and it turned out he was in the same Special Forces Group I was in (20th Group) back in the 90s. I was an intel analyst (not a Green Beret like David) attached to the unit and trained as an SOP-C (Special Operations Candidate) before ultimately deciding to finish my studies at university, but I’ve never forgotten the experiences I had with 20th Group and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to bring Dave on the show to share some of what he’s seen and done.

Dave has also started a company called SOF Transition Group (www.softransition.com) to help special operations veterans and support personnel transition from their high-speed world in the military to finding civilian employment which values their… unique set of skills.
