Description

On today’s episode of the Soul Connection Duo Podcast, we connect with holistic therapist, Jen Thompson. Jen started her private practice in 2016 and recently moved her practice onto her homestead near London, Ontario this past year. Jen has a professional background in social work, and has harmonized her psycho-education with therapeutic yoga and somatic healing. She has been evolving her yoga training since 2005 and has trained in hatha, power, vinyasa, Modo, trauma-informed, and restorative yoga. She’s been healing in the spiritual realm and supporting many clients with self-healing and expanding their consciousness.

Our conversation with Jen offers our listeners a beautiful perspective on homesteading and regenerative farming. She discusses the healing power of animals, especially for individuals with dysregulated nervous systems, as well as how being in an animal's presence can bring us back into the present moment. Jen talks about some of the animals she has at her homestead and how she incorporates them into her healing workshops with clients. She also discusses the realness of manifestation, and how she was able to use the magic of manifesting to achieve the dream of having her home and business all located in a healing space out in nature. She reminds us just how powerful we can be when we set our mind and intentions in the right place, and the importance of allowing ourselves to become more expansive.

Furthermore, we discuss the amazing healing capacity that plants have to offer us. This healing can take place in many forms, including the food we eat, the connection we have with nature, and if we choose, we can also explore the options of using psychedelic plants as soul medicine. Jen shares some of her own experiences using plants in their many forms and the ways in which these plants have helped her along her healing journey.

Jen uses integrative approaches to wellness, such as nature, animals, somatic healing, trauma-informed yoga, mindfulness practices, and spirituality. Jen and her family have started regenerative farming to heal the land, and in turn, heal themselves and others. Jen offers individual and couples counselling, as well as retreats and workshops. Jen’s purpose is to help those heal their trauma and embody their higher self. All of Jen's offerings are available on her website, www.thesovereigntherapist.com. You can also find Jen on Instagram @thesovereigntherapist to follow her homestead journey and find out more information about her incredible offerings.
