A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Mark

恭读圣马尔谷福音6:1-6

Jesus departed from there and came to his native place, accompanied by his disciples. 

那时候，耶稣来到自己的家乡，他的门徒也跟随着他。

When the sabbath came he began to teach in the synagogue,

到了安息日，他便开始在会堂里教训人：

and many who heard him were astonished. 

许多人听了就惊讶地说：

They said, “Where did this man get all this? 

“他这一切是从哪里学来的呢？

What kind of wisdom has been given him? 

是谁给他那样的智慧呢？

What mighty deeds are wrought by his hands! 

他的手竟然行出这样的神迹？

Is he not the carpenter, the son of Mary,

and the brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon? 

这不是那个木匠吗？他不是玛利亚的儿子，雅格、若瑟、犹大、西满的兄弟吗？

And are not his sisters here with us?” 

And they took offense at him. 

他的姐妹们不是也都住在我们这里吗？”他们便对他起了反感。

Jesus said to them,

耶稣对他们说：

“A prophet is not without honor except in his native place

and among his own kin and in his own house.” 

“先知除了在自己的本乡、本族、和本家之外，没有不受人尊敬的。”

So, he was not able to perform any mighty deed there,

耶稣在那里不能行什么神迹，

apart from curing a few sick people by laying his hands on them.

只是给少数的几个病人覆手，治好了他们。

He was amazed at their lack of faith.

他因他们的缺乏信心而感到诧异。

 
The word of the Lord. 

感谢天主！接下来，让我们一起学习福音中的两个单词，使我们能够更好的理解福音。

One word that is difficult word is the word “accompanied”. It is the past participle of Accompany, to accompany means to go with.

Now let’s say it together.

 a-ccom-pa-nie-d  

accompanied.  There, you have it 

Another difficult word is the word “wrought.” 

Remember that in english when a “w” is followed by an “r”, together they sound justlike an “r”, like in the word write.  And often when you see “o”, “u”, “g”, “h”, ”t” all together it is pronounced like “ot”, think of the words sought, ought. 

Now let’s say it together.

Wrought is the old fashioned past and past participle of work. It is old-fashioned because we do not use it very often today, but it was used a long time ago. 

最后我们一起来聆听老师对于此篇福音的感想：

We see in the Gospel that Jesus came to His own home and said many great things, 

在这段福音中我们看到，耶稣回到他的家乡并讲了很多伟大的事情，

but the people did not listen to these things because they had seen Him before, 

但是人们并不想听这些，因为他们以前见过他，

and they thought they knew all about Him. 

并且他们自认为对他的一切了如指掌。

So Jesus could not do anything more for them. 

因此耶稣不能为他们做更多的事情。

This reminds us that God often times talks to us in our everyday lives,

这就提醒了我们，在我们的日常生活中，天主经常会与我们交流， 

 He reminds us how much he loves us in little ways. 

他会在生活中的小事中提醒我们，他是多么的爱我们。 

We should remember that everything about our life, our life itself, is a gift, 

我们应该记住，我们生活的一切，以及生命本身，都是一份礼物， 

even the small things and the God is always with us telling us that He loves us.  

即使在一些小事中，天主总是与我们同在，告诉我们他是这样深爱我们。 

But we do not always think this, because, like the people in Nazareth, we think that we know everything and have done everything ourselves! 

但是我们千万不要这样想，就像纳撒勒人一样，认为我们什么都知道，什么事情都是由自己完成的！ 

Let us remember today how much God loves us and see His love in everything and everyone around us. 

今天，让我们牢牢记住：天主是多么爱我们，并且在我们周围的一切和我们身边的每个人身上，看到他的爱。 

And remember that everything we have is a gift from Him. 

请记住，我们所拥有的一切都来自他的恩赐。
