A reading from the Holy Gospel according to John (10:11-18)

恭讀聖若望福音 10:11-18 

Jesus said:

“I am the good shepherd,

a good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.

那時候，耶穌說：

“我是善牧:

善牧為羊舍掉自己的性命。

A hired man, who is not a shepherd

and whose sheep are not his own,

sees a wolf coming and leaves the sheep and runs away, 

and the wolf catches and scatters them.

傭工，因為不是牧人，

羊也不是他自己的，

一看見狼來，便棄羊逃跑；

狼就抓住羊，把羊趕散了； 

This is because he works for pay and has no concern for the sheep. 

因為他是傭工，對羊漠不關心。 

I am the good shepherd,

and I know mine and mine know me,

just as the Father knows me and I know the Father;

and I will lay down my life for the sheep.

我是善牧，

我認識我的羊，我的羊也認識我，

正如父認識我，我也認識父一樣；

我並且為羊舍掉我的性命。 

I have other sheep that do not belong to this fold. 

我還有其他羊，還不屬於這一棧， 

These also I must lead, 

and they will hear my voice,

and there will be one flock, one shepherd.

我也該把他們領來，

他們要聽我的聲音；

這樣，將只有一個羊群，一個牧人。 

“This is why the Father loves me

because I lay down my life in order to take it up again. 

“父愛我，因為我舍掉我的性命，為再取回它。

No one takes it from me, 

but I lay it down on my own.

誰也不能奪去我的性命，

而是我甘心情願舍掉它。 

I have power to lay it down, 

and power to take it up again. 

This command I have received from my Father.”

我有權舍掉它，

我也有權再取回它：

這是我由我父所接受的命令。”

The sentence from the Gospel passage we will study today is:

今天我們要從福音段落裡學習的句子是： 

These also I must lead, 

and they will hear my voice, 

and there will be one flock, one shepherd.

我也該把他們領來，

他們要聽我的聲音；

這樣，將只有一個羊群，一個牧人。 

This sentence, as St. Cyril of Alexandria tells us shows that

Jesus is here sharing His life, His light, His truth to every country under heaven including China. 

這句話，正如亞歷山大的聖西瑞爾告訴我們，顯示了

耶穌在這裡把他的生命、他的光、他的真理分享給天下所有的國家，包括中國。

Christ is the door that leads to God, to our eternal life with Him.

Only through the door of the Good shepherd can we be saved. 

基督是通往天主的門，通過祂我們才能進入永生。

只有通過善牧，我們才能得救。

It is Christ who gave us the instruction for our salvation. 

Trust Jesus with your life, 

just as the sheep must trust their shepherd with their lives, He is our Good Shepherd 

and shows us who trust in Him how to save and live our lives for God.

是基督給了我們救贖的指示。

把你的生命託付給耶穌，

就像羊要把自己的生命託付給牧人一樣，

他是我們的好牧人，

告訴我們這些信靠祂的人如何被天主拯救並為主而活。
