#8 - Stacey June on Millennial Women, Generational Pressure, Burnout, High Expectations and why we CANNOT have it all
Description
Charging up the show for the final time this year... Stacey June joins Anna in the studio to discuss her book Single Pringle, her past trauma and how she reframed the word failure in order to turn experiences into her strengths. And why, as she explains, Millennial Women are constantly left feeling burnt out, like they have completely failed - and guess what, it's not our fault!
We’re constantly being told by our mothers' generation, we're whingers, we ask for too much, we’re moody, we’re privileged, we have it all, asking why are we complaining? And when we try to fall asleep at night and pick apart our 'failures' of a day, we wonder what WE did wrong...? Does this resonate with you?
As the creator and co-host of the successful podcast and radio show The Thinkergirls, Stacey wanted to use her role as a broadcaster and TV presenter to dedicate helping people access their intuition and feel good about their authentic selves. So she now directs all of her energy into her coaching business and membership program built for women to find practical ways to get in touch with their intuition, their truth and lead lives that are fulfilling, honest and courageous.
Listen in as Anna picks apart the Millennial psyche, wedged in between a Gen Z world, apparently abundant career opportunities and the expectations of the Boomers who raised us, but who still seek to critique us and categorise us by gender - because that is exactly what happened to them.
Send Anna and Stacey a voice note if you have ever felt like this... It's a constant uphill battle!
And for the last time in 2021, as always, stay charged!
