Description

Please join us this Tuesday when Weinstein Law's radio show guest will be Dennis Gilmore, Executive Director of the Henderson County Performing Arts Center.

The Henderson County Performing Arts Center was founded in 1964 as Athens Little Theatre. Today, the theatre produces seven shows each season, including two musicals each year. In 1989, HCPAC developed a youth program. Since that time, the program has been expanded to include fall, spring and summer programs for children and two main stage shows presented by the group known as the YES! COMPANY (Youth Excellence on Stage).

The vision of the theatre is to bring outreach programs into all locations of Henderson County and surrounding areas. In that endeavor, the theatre opened its new Education Building and Black Box Theatre on the property in 2003.

The organization is committed to bringing the theatre arts to all ages. With a strong working relationship with the local college and Independent School Districts in the region, the theatre continues to offer productions that excite as well as entertain.

HCPAC's Executive Director, Dennis Gilmore has been in theatre for 26 years working as an actor, director, producer and technical director. He directs the majority of the shows at HCPAC as well as producing all main stage, black box and touring shows.

With a tireless energy to educate and entertain, Dennis  works to provide Henderson County with quality entertainment for its families and quality education for its youth. He serves as the Vice President of Education for the American Association of Community Theatres and serves on the Board of Directors of Texas Nonprofit Theaters. Dennis has a MA in Theatre from Stephen F. Austin State University.

Listen in Tuesday, April 26th at 11:30 a.m. as Jeff and Dennis discuss the future of the Henderson County Performing Arts Center.
