Description

In May 2008, Jacy Good and her parents were driving home after her graduation from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA. It was a route they had driven countless times during Jacy's four years there. On this day, however, the Good family was in an accident caused by a distracted driver that resulted in a head on collision with a tractor trailer. Jacy's mother and father, Jean and Jay Good, were killed in the accident. Jacy was in critical condition, spending four months in the hospital. The accident has left Jacy with permanent injuries.

"I have to know that this accident happened to me for a reason and that my parents' deaths weren't senseless and meaningless. I discovered early in my recovery process that telling my story caused people to change their behavior. I believe my life was spared for a reason, and until families are no longer being forced through the kind of pain that mine was, I will not stop spending every free moment fighting for this cause." - Jacy Good

Not only does Jacy encourage safe driving practices, she is also a vocal advocate for legislation that would prohibit distracted driving.

We are privileged to have Jacy as our radio show guest this Friday. Jacy courageously shares her story and works to educate the public about the dangers associated with distracted driving. She works with numerous advocacy groups including Oprah Winfrey's "No Phone Zone" and is on the board of Focus Driven.
