Description

Not only does 2011 mark the 26th year of the PRCA Stampede Rodeo, but it also marks Sarah Hueber's one year anniversary as the Athens Chamber of Commerce President.

Last May, the Hueber family packed up and moved to the home of the hamburger, knowing friendly faces and a great community would be there to greet them. The decision to move back to her home-state of Texas from Georgia to accept the position at the Chamber was an easy one for Sarah.

Beginning work with only three days before the rodeo, she found herself among the bulls, broncos and mud for the first time. Sarah went right to work as the new Chamber president without missing a beat. The event was a success and she plans to make it even bigger and better this year.

With a passion for service and helping hands, Sarah was employed with the United Way in Georgia before relocating to Athens last year.

Even though it's been less than twelve months, she is already entrenched into the Athens community. The Huebers are members of the First United Methodist Church, where Sarah volunteers as the Children's Ministries Program Leader. She is also a Rotarian and sits on the Athens Public Education Foundation Board of Directors.

Sarah, her husband Charlie and their four-year-old son Jude have settled right in to the Athens community. Charlie is a professor of psychology at Trinity Valley Community College and Jude is beginning kindergarten in the fall.

Sarah will be Jeff's radio show guest this Friday, March 25th at 11:30 a.m. CST. They will be discussing upcoming events in Athens.
