This Friday, attorney Jeff Weinstein will be speaking with Miss South Dakota Loren Vaillancourt, an advocate for distracted driving awareness. In May 2009, Miss Vaillancourt lost her only sibling because of distracted driving. As a community leader, Miss Vaillancourt feels she can help raise awareness on this growing issue and influence drivers to focus on safer driving.
"I have been personally affected by the devastation distracted driving causes. It has put me in a position to be proactive and share my story with others," Miss Vaillancourt said. "I want to urge people of all ages to pay attention behind the wheel because no text message or phone call is worth a life. I have seen the horror and have been through the pain associated with losing an innocent loved one. I am sharing my story to save lives."
