Despite their initial hostility, they quickly grow to admire one another because of their dedication to their respective tasks on Afdah Movie. Both the teacher and the student are prompted to think critically by their questions, and Ben establishes his mettle right away when Carla has him repeat what she just said since she doesn't think he was paying attention and he can answer it all back to her. Together, Schwartzman and Kane are a lively duo that excel at handling both tragic and humorous material. But De Leon is the movie's undisputed MVP. De Leon has been consistently working since then, having previously completed another film, Ghostlight, at Sundance. He is undoubtedly very near to receiving an Oscar nomination in 2022 for Triangle of Sadness.
