Description
The adventure films of Howard Hawks, which were at least used in Twister as a nod or stroke to back the main characters' supporting cast, instead reduce them to the status of mere cutouts, basic furniture that is accentuated visually but not further developed narratively on Twisters Afdah. Because we are eventually unable to establish empathy for them, we are unable to be interested in what might happen to them. They are merely individuals who strike a stance at the start and then sprint in all directions. The savior heroine's and her two suitors' journey or development arc is just nonexistent because it is cliched and expected in her.
