Description

The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) last week asked District Court Judge Paula Xinis, an appointee of former President Barack Obama, to lift her August injunction blocking the deportation of Kilmar Abrego Garica.

Among the reasons cited in its filing, the DOJ reported that U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and the State Department have obtained diplomatic assurances that Abrego Garcia will be treated appropriately upon deportation to Liberia.
