After being a teacher, stay-at-home mom, coach and trainer in both music and administration, babysitting grandma and caregiver at heart, helping Seniors downsize and move was a natural pathway to a rewarding career. Gail opened her first solopreneur business, All The Right Moves in 2003. A firm believer in lifelong learning, she began by taking courses that would support her work, Marketing 101, Business Management 101, Bookkeeping 101, Certified Professional Consultant on Aging. She says she aced the last one because she understood it, from the inside. Having no business experience, the others allowed her to set up an office and have a basic understanding of what to do and, not surprisingly, what NOT to do. Through the first six years she enjoyed her small business, bringing helpful family members and friends to the job when help was needed and sharing trade secrets with her new friend and fellow move manager, Karen Shinn. In 2009 an opportunity presented that could not be turned down - franchising. Karen and Gail knew nothing about it except that it was too big for either of them on our own so they joined forces. It has been quite a ride. Now Karen has retired and their former CFO, Gail's son Geoff, is her business partner. They have an agreement not to talk shop at family events.
