Fire Fighting, Miracles & Life’s Fragility- Dennis Wycoff & Curtis Roberts- The Wise-Life Blueprint Podcast
Description
On this episode, Dennis Wycoff, a 30+ year veteran-battalion chief of the fire department shares leadership advice, fire stories and life-wisdom. They discuss raising the dead, miracles, navigating trauma and what the culture of firefighting is like.
Dennis has been with the same group of guys studying the Bible for the past 12 years. They have been studying Isaiah for the past 2.5 years and meet on Wednesday nights and spend about 90 minutes exploring the word. He has been married to his wife Regina for almost 25 years. They met when he answered a News and Review ad that she placed. It was the first dating app... before the internet. They read a lot together and one of their favorite books is “Cherish" by Gary Thomas. He has two daughters in College. Both would like to teach elementary school. Dennis is actually a photographer at heart! He was behind the lens for all Folsom Fire Department photos for the past 30 years. He has shot a few weddings and engagements over the years but mostly landscape and candid photos.
He gave his life to Jesus when he was 30 years old. All the credit goes to his close friend and co-worker Dean. They spent 30 years working together at the fire department. Dean was his Superior until he promoted to Battalion Chief then became peers. Dean never shared the gospel he just lived it! Dennis knew he was different by the way he lived.
What is the Wise-Life Blueprint? Unpasteurized discussions to uncover the pathways of life-wisdom, not sucking and giant-killing. The Wise-Life Blueprint is a platform for leaders, friends and reformers to story-tell, explore prophetic mystery, articulate the deep things of God and give practical tools. There is nothing more life-giving than a conversation wrought with substance and relevance—this is an attempt to share them.
Curtis Roberts is an Associate Pastor at Jesus Culture Church in Sacramento CA and is a graduate of Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry, where he met his wife Bethany. He is a 6th generation pastor. He started this Podcast simply because he has a lot to say about a lot of things and because no-one takes the time to ask wise people good questions.
