In this episode, Elliott tells his radical stories of growing up as an orphan on the streets in Ukraine, being miraculously adopted to a Virginia-based family and being baptized in the Holy Spirit at an American youth conference before He spoke or understood any English. Then, he and Curtis unpack the mystery of the Holy Spirit. Who is He? What is He like? What is He drawn to? And how do we host His presence? There is so much unhelpful theology surrounding our relationship with the Holy Spirit that makes Him seem distant and only reached by the “hyper-spiritual”. A few sacred cows bite the dust in this short 3-hour session.

Elliot Schweickert was adopted at the age of sixteen. He heard the audible voice of God at a youth camp that same year, and has been in love with Jesus ever since. He attended Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry for three years starting in 2012, and is now on staff at a thriving church in Virginia called The River Church. His vision is to raise up a generation of leaders who are equipped, empowered, and released into their God-given purposes. Elliott has had the privilege to travel throughout the world preaching about the goodness of the Father as he has experienced in his own testimony. He seeks to ignite a passion for the gospel in others, and to bring about the reality of Jesus' prayer, “On earth as it is in Heaven.” Elliott believes that the Holy Spirit wants to reveal Himself through ordinary people and ordinary lives. The most impactful outreach happens when a heart is available and yielded to His voice. The world is starving for love, and it should find it in us. Elliott’s chief desire in life is to know Holy Spirit and be known by Him.
