How Do I Have Better Friends than F•R•I•E•N•D•S?
Description
TRIGGER WARNING: This episode contains discussion of suicide, alcoholism and drug abuse.
Humans are social creatures, we need to have relationships with others. The most common one is friendships and that’s the topic of the episode! This week’s guest, Dr. Shari Dade, is a psychologist, wellness coach, podcast host and motivational speaker and she’s here for you! Dr. Shari gives advice on how to make new friends, finding the balance between setting boundaries and supporting your friends, and approaching sex or romance with one. She delves into the dark side of friendships too: codependency and abuse, friends that are mentally unwell, and when it’s time to call in professional help. On a lighter note, the three of them discuss times they've hated their friend’s partner and that you can’t always give 100% to your friends... and that’s okay. Listen up!
