Led by Fr. Michael Thorne Jarrett

Psalm 50:1-15

Psalm 94

OfficiantO God, make speed to save us.
AllO Lord, make haste to help us.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit: as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

The following Psalms are read

Psalm 50:1–15

50   The Mighty One, God the LORD,
    speaks and summons the earth
    from the rising of the sun to its setting.
  Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty,
    God shines forth.

  Our God comes; he does not keep silence;
    before him is a devouring fire,
    around him a mighty tempest.
  He calls to the heavens above
    and to the earth, that he may judge his people:
  “Gather to me my faithful ones,
    who made a covenant with me by sacrifice!”
  The heavens declare his righteousness,
    for God himself is judge! Selah

  “Hear, O my people, and I will speak;
    O Israel, I will testify against you.
    I am God, your God.
  Not for your sacrifices do I rebuke you;
    your burnt offerings are continually before me.
  I will not accept a bull from your house
    or goats from your folds.
10   For every beast of the forest is mine,
    the cattle on a thousand hills.
11   I know all the birds of the hills,
    and all that moves in the field is mine.

12   “If I were hungry, I would not tell you,
    for the world and its fullness are mine.
13   Do I eat the flesh of bulls
    or drink the blood of goats?
14   Offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving,
    and perform your vows to the Most High,
15   and call upon me in the day of trouble;
    I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me.”

Psalm 94

1  O LORD, God of vengeance, *

O God who avenges, shine forth.

2  Rise up, O judge of the earth; *

render to the proud what they deserve.

3  How long shall the wicked, O LORD, *

how long shall the wicked triumph?

4  They pour out arrogant words; *

all the workers of evil boast.

5  They crush your people, O LORD, *

and afflict your inheritance.

6  They kill the widow and the sojourner, *

and murder the fatherless;

7  they say, “The LORD does not see; *

the God of Jacob does not notice.”

8  Take heed, you dullest of the people. *

you fools, when will you be wise?

9  He who planted the ear, does he not hear?

He who formed the eye, does he not see? *

He who disciplines the nations, will he not rebuke?

10  He who teaches man knowledge—

the LORD—knows the thoughts of man, *

that they are but a breath.

12  Blessed is the man whom you discipline, O LORD, *

the one you teach out of your law,

13  that you may give him rest from the days of trouble, *

until a pit is dug for the wicked.

14  For the LORD will not forsake his people; *

he will not abandon his inheritance;

15  for judgment will return to righteousness, *

and all the upright in heart will follow it.

16  Who will rise up for me against the wicked? *

Who will take a stand for me against the workers of evil?

17  If the LORD had not been my help, *

my soul would have soon lived in the land of silence.

18  If I say, “My foot is slipping,” *

your steadfast love, O LORD, will hold me up.

19  When the cares of my heart are many, *

your consolations cheer my soul.

20  Can wicked rulers be allied with you, *

those who frame injustice by statute?

21  They gather together against th
