Monica Okrah opening the educational Gateway to Excellence!

Our featured guest, Monica Okrah, provided empowering information to help families embrace and conquer their collegiate fears. During this episode, she offered her thoughts on the importance of family, career readiness, the power of exposure, and the importance of leveraging relationships and school resources to overcome any discomfort.

Monica's willingness to share her story, and the critical moment that allowed her to be the first in her family to attend college, was powerful. She shared the two programs that provided the foundation for her empowering exposure, confidence, technical competence, exposure to social capital, college and career readiness, and social enterprise. 

Growing up in the tough South Side of Chicago, it was Monica's exposure to a mentor/sponsors that allowed her to attend college.  Her mentor’s support provided her the confidence to pursue graduate school at the prestigious Harvard University.

Monica shares how the skills acquired from the intensive summer program, connections, and networking can allow minorities to attend top schools and high-impact careers.

Monica is an influencer, coach, author, leader, and former Wall Street investment banker. She has coached over 450+ MBA applicants from 45 countries.

Monica has a humble spirit, loves kids, and is committed to transforming the lives of disenfranchised youth, and creating economic mobility.
