Off Road Podcast 477 – Our Last Episode
Update: 2024-09-30
Description
Tonight, Aaron becomes Ultra, Coy is still screeching, & Ben prepares to shut up
Welcome to the off-road podcast. A podcast about everything off-road. We cover the news, review products, and interview people in the off road industry. Your hosts tonight are Aaron, Coy and my name is Ben. Welcome to the show.
Before we kick off this episode I just want to recognize all the people who have been affected by the hurricane that hit the SW US. I know that entire towns have been hammered. Some will be without power, water, and sewer for weeks to come. I hope that the wheeling community out there is able to come together and put their rigs to work helping out in any ways possible.
Coy - swapped my front tire out. Also changed my front upper ball joint. Still have a horrible noise in the front end. Set the date for my pumpkin spice party.
Aaron - Finally moving tools out from the old shop into the new one. Installed my new Ultra Hook.
Ben - been to busy to think

We also want to thank our sponsor Patriot Patch. Head over to Patriotpatch.co and check out their selection of great patches, shirts, cleaning mats, signs , and stickers. You can also join the patch of the month club for 15 bucks and receive a patch, matching sticker, and artist proof each month.
Main Topic
How hard is it to run a podcast?
Average amount of work per week
C- I think I average about 4 ½ hours a week. sometimes a lot more, and occasionally a little less. I have a notepad in my phone just for when a podcast thought or show idea pops into my head.
B- 5-10 hours depending on what's going on
Comments/complaints we got through the years (iTunes reviews)
Coys favorite review

Good information and often provides interesting offroad industry news. They are a Very liberal podcast, which I guess doesn't matter.
Great podcast. It makes me want to go out and build and wheel your rig. Sometimes you will feel bad for Ben. Might need to start a new rig fund for Ben. They have great information and love when they have people in the industry on.
Great topics. Nice to find off road content for the common man. Not everyone can afford 60s & 40s and a brand new rig. Love the camp stories and honest reviews. Keep up the good work.
Favorite things about doing the podcast
C It’s an excellent stress reliever to come on and roast Ben for an hour plus every week..
And all the friendships and adventures I made and had, that had I never been a part of the pod I would never have gotten to experience.
A- The places that I have gotten to go.
B- the friends and contacts have been amazing to make getting noticed as that podcast guy has always been cool
Things that we didn't like
The pay!
The most unlikable part is getting industry interviews, the amount of emails that go unanswered is only rivaled by the ones that you get a reply on and then they go silent for unknown reasons.
Lack of show participation. I don't mean to sound like I'm throwing shade on our listeners, I totally understand but it's hard for me to feel good about how I'm doing just off of download numbers. I always craved the live comments and the fb page interactions.
Places/events we got to attend
NW overland rally
Warn industries
SEMA
PNW overland expo
Other podcasts we were able to join
Jeep talk show
Newfound overland / budget overland
Let's Go Hunt
