Description
After finishing a long overnight shift at a diner in L.A., Dreux (Keke Palmer) is exhausted and eager to head back to her apartment for some much-needed rest before an important job interview that could change her future. She shares her space with Alyssa (SZA), an artist who seems more focused on her boyfriend, Keshawn (Joshua David Neal), than on maintaining a job. When Dreux trusts Alyssa to give the rent money to their landlord Uche (Rizi Timane), she’s taken aback when Alyssa hands it over to Keshawn instead, who quickly uses it for his t-shirt business idea. With only nine hours left to pay Uche, Dreux and Alyssa set out in their neighborhood to find quick cash, facing temptations like payday loans and blood donations, all while drawing the ire of Bernice (Aziza Scott), one of Keshawn’s other girlfriends, who feels humiliated and is determined to confront them.
