But with consistent work and intense training, he was able to turn his early defeats into a run of wins. Robles was a two-time Arizona State Champion and a high school National Champion after achieving an outstanding 96-0 record by the time he reached his junior and senior years at Mesa High School. Numerous collegiate wrestling teams voiced worries about Robles' ability to compete at the next level despite his high school success, mostly because of his stature and physical condition.
