Reading the Gospel with Foreigners

亲爱的听众朋友们，主内平安，欢迎回到读经学英语。耶稣升天后的第十日，为圣教会四大瞻礼之一的圣神降临瞻礼，瞻礼的到来也标志着复活期的结束。在这天，天主圣神降临在宗徒们身上，引领他们开始执行耶稣托付的向普世万民传讲福音的使命，同时也标志着圣教会的诞生。接下来，让我们跟随Rachael老师的诵读，一起来学习圣神降临瞻礼的福音。

A reading from the Holy Gospel of John 

恭读圣若望福音 15:26-27;16:12-15

Jesus said to his disciples:

那时候，耶稣对门徒说：

“When the Advocate comes whom I will send you from the Father,

“当护慰者，就是我从父那里，给你们派遣的、

the Spirit of truth that proceeds from the Father,

那发于父的真理之神，来到时，

he will testify to me.

祂必要为我作证；

And you also testify,

你们并且也要作证，

because you have been with me from the beginning.

因为你们从开始就和我在一起。

“I have much more to tell you, but you cannot bear it now.

“我本来还有许多事，要告诉你们，然而，你们现在不能负担。

But when he comes, the Spirit of truth,

当那一位真理之神来到时，

he will guide you to all truth.

祂要把你们引入一切真理，

He will not speak on his own,

因为祂不凭自己讲论，

but he will speak what he hears,

只把祂所听到的，讲出来，

and will declare to you the things that are coming.

并把未来的事，传告给你们。

He will glorify me,

“祂要光荣我，

because he will take from what is mine and declare it to you.

因为祂要把由我所领受的，传告给你们。

Everything that the Father has is mine;

凡父所有的一切，都是我的；

for this reason I told you that he will take from what is mine

and declare it to you.”

为此，我说：祂要把由我所领受的，传告给你们。”

Advocate ['ædvəkeɪt] v.提倡，拥护 n.拥护者，支持者

在福音中意为护慰者，代指圣神。

testify ['testɪfaɪ ]v.证明，证实

declare [dɪ'kleə] v.宣布，宣告

glorify ['ɡlɔrɪfaɪ] v.荣耀，光荣

最后，我们一起来聆听Rachael老师对于此篇福音的感想：

中国的兄弟姐妹们，你们好! 很荣幸能够通过这期节目与大家一起诵读福音。

In this passage from John, Jesus lets us have a small, quick look at who He really is, and who He really is, is God.

在若望福音的这段经文中，耶稣让我们容易地得知他究竟是谁，他究竟是谁呢?他就是天主。

God is love, goodness, and truth itself. 

天主是爱、是美善、是真理本身。

This is why Jesus says He will send the Spirit of Truth, that the Spirit of Truth comes from the Father, and that this same Spirit glorifies Jesus, who is the Son of God.

这就是为什么耶稣说他要派遣真理之神，那发于父的真理之神，这位圣神光荣了耶稣——天主之子。

In a sense, Jesus will go away from His disciples when He ascends into heaven. 

从某种意义上来讲，耶稣升天时，他将离开他的门徒。

Yet, through the Holy Spirit, He will become closer to His disciples than ever before. 

然而，依靠圣神，他将比以往任何时候更接近他的门徒。

Jesus desires this same closeness with you as well. 

耶稣也渴望与你有同样的亲密。

Please remember that the God who gave us free will also respects our free will. He will not force His way into our hearts.

请记住，给予我们自由的天主也尊重我们的自由意志。他不会强迫我们遵行他的道路。

When you feel worried, scared, confused, or hurt, invite the Holy Spirit to be your advocate and to guide you. 

当你感到担忧、害怕、困惑或痛苦时，邀请圣神来护慰你，指引你。

Here is a common, simple prayer to invite the Holy Spirit into your day: 

在这里，以一个简短的经文来邀请圣神参与你的生活：

Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love. 

圣神请你降临！充满你信徒的心，在我们心内燃起你的爱火。

L: Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created. 

领: 求你发出你的神，万物便能复苏。

A: And You shall renew the face of the earth.

众: 你便使地面更新。 

愿我们与耶稣的关系日益亲密，并在生活中时刻跟随圣神的引领。
