In this podcast, Kiki discusses whether it is possible to build muscle and burn fat at the same time?


However, multi-tasking means you are doing neither thing efficiently.


You need to mono-task to be efficient. Your body prefers you to do one or the other, so you can start doing them in cycles, i.e. a phase of building muscle alternated with a phase of losing fat. This is metabolically more efficient.


Eat according to your periodization. Don't eat at a deficit the entire time, or at a surplus the entire time!


Phases are personal choice. Starting out, try 4 weeks per phase. Alternate.


You can eat at maintenance for the closest way to build muscle and burn fat at the same time, but then it's a slower process.
