Talha رضي الله عنه was of the first of the first to embrace Islam. He was amongst the first 8.
A ~15 year old Talha رضي الله عنه embarks on a business trip to Busra, Syria. There, he encounters a Christian monk who says: “Has Ahmed [ﷺ] emerged yet?”.
The Monk tells Talha رضي الله عنه to go to Makkah and follow The Messenger ﷺ and to not let anyone beat him to it! It is a tremendous honour! Talha رضي الله عنه returns to Makkah and the people tell him of The Messenger ﷺ proclaiming and that Talha’s cousin, Abu Bakr (رضي الله عنهم) has followed him.
Talha رضي الله عنه embraced Islam at the hands of Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه.
Many of the Companions, including some of the ten promised Paradise (رضي الله عنهم) embraced Islam at Abu Bakr’s رضي الله عنه hands.
