In these waning days of summer just taking it easy on this afternoon's edition of The A-Trane Radio Program with preview features and birthdays! An extended feature for the great Esperanza Spalding will take a sweep across her multi-faceted career, collaborations and recordings to preview her highly anticipated performance at the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts tonight!

Other previews include Campbell Ryga, Pj Perry, Amy Stephen & Amir Haghighi, Rudresh Mahanthappa, and Dave Say's interpretations of Sonny Rollins' Way Out West (he's an old cowhand!) For Charlie Parker's birthday today, we'll mix different versions of Confirmation and Trane's reworking 26-2 as well as a few other nods. Other birthdays include Jerry Dodgion (the theme!), Cecile McLorin Salvant, Dinah Washington, Lester Young (the real Prez!) and Doug Raney!
