Two principal features on this afternoon's edition of The A-Trane Radio Program, first up is the great Gary Bartz who turns 85 years old today and we'll hear him in a number of settings from Max Roach's group, Miles Davis, & Ntu Troop through to Maisha & Jazz is Dead. Then an extended feature for the late British double bass player Danny Thompson who brought a jazz sensibility to each of the extremely varied projects in which he participated. We'll hear him with Alexis Korner, John McLaughlin, a nascent version of the Brotherhood of Breath, Nick Drake, John Martyn, Pentangle, Stan Tracey, Richard Thompson - RT and much more!
We'll also have time for some previews from Jacqui Naylor, James Danderfer with Miki Yamanaka, Sue Foley, Seamus Blake with The Bloomdaddies, The Mad Professor with Sly & Robbie and solo Keith Jarrett in Jazz Köln.
