The Good News About Jesus - Portrait of a Disciple
Description
How have you been amazed this week at the work of God around you? Mark continues to paint a portrait of what it means to be a follower of Jesus. Last week we discovered a follower is amazed at what God does and, in response, is full of faith and expectancy that God will continue to reveal His kingdom on earth.
This week, in chapters 8 & 9, we continue to gaze upon this portrait and discover that being a follower of Jesus requires continued priority to the concerns of God in one’s life. The picture we receive from the stories this week isn’t easy and requires constant dependence on the faithfulness of God in our lives. What does it mean to deny oneself and take up your cross? Join us this week as we reaffirm the identity of Jesus and express once again our dependence on Him.
