Description
WHEN JESUS ASKS THE QUESTION : Why are you troubled and why do doubts arise in your hearts? Luke 24:36 - 40
Just like joy, sadness, or anger, doubt is an emotion—often a negative one. And like other emotions, it can lead to a response—typically fear. When Jesus appeared to His disciples on the evening of His resurrection, their initial reaction was fear and disbelief. But Jesus responded with compassion: He spoke peace, reassured them, and showed clear proof that He was alive—not a ghost.
Doubt can be overcome. Jesus’ presence and words dispelled the disciples’ fear, and they were called to trust in Him. The same applies to us. When doubt arises, we must let Jesus speak peace into our hearts and restore our trust.
As you reflect on this story, ask yourself:
“Why are you troubled, and why do doubts arise in your heart?”
Then open your heart, and let Jesus remind you to trust Him again.
