In this episode Jojo Hogan, Postpartum doula and founder of the Slow Postpartum movement introduces the concept of slowing down and honouring the first few weeks following the birth of a baby as a time of potent and powerful transformation for a new mother.
She gives a background to her experience in caring for new mothers and babies over the past twenty years and her path from pregnancy spa owner to postpartum doula and mentor as she realised that many new mothers were suffering from neglect, loneliness and isolation following the birth of there babies.
Over the next episodes of the Slow Postpartum Podcast we shall meet a wide variety of experts in the postpartum care realm who have great insights and inspirations as to how best to get the most out of this special and potent time.  We shall explore the many brain changes that happen to a new mother after birth and how we can help facilitate the right environment for her to ensure that the weeks after the birth of her baby are a time of peace, joy and satisfaction.
