Welcome to the Weekend Wind Down, a guided meditation to help you to let go of the stress of the week, and to set an intention for the weekend.
This is the first of what will be a weekly reflection, because I love helping stressed out and anxious women like you to create moments of calm in your day, and intentionally build replenishment into your weekends.
Today I invite you to slow down with some deep breaths, become mindful of your body, send compassion to yourself and your loved ones, look back over your week and set an intention for your weekend.
This episode is so jam packed with juicy goodness that it is over 11 minutes long. I will aim to make future episodes about 5-8 minutes.
I have published this as an audio file so you can listen and enjoy anywhere - on the bus, waiting in a queue, wherever you are. Enjoy!

And remember, you are already wonderful, just as you are!
Did you know that that 75-80% of our
thoughts are negative?
And that 95% of those thoughts are
repetitive?
That’s what psychologists and
neuroscientists tell us.
That we think about the same negative or
worried or stressful things over and over.
Does that surprise you?
My hot tip today is to start to address this negative bias in a fun, simple way.
Enjoy!
Do you see yourself as
shy?
Do you struggle to
understand how life works; the way other people seem to?
As you walk along the
street, do you wish you weren’t always stepping out of the way?
Well, if you said yes to any of those then
this is for you.

Do you feel that you're somehow different from other people?
Do you worry that no one really understands you?
And have you noticed? No one seems to want to talk about shyness. Of course not! For us shy people, it feels embarrassing. But shyness is more common than
you think, and I'm here to start the quiet conversation we've all been secretly waiting for.

Are you ready for the Festive Season?
Are you gathering with family or friends?
The last month or two has been a bit of a roller coaster ride for me, spending time visiting family members in hospital. And that's made me think about what’s important.
So join me today as I share my 2 top tips for a memorable Festive Season.
Do you tend to listen to others’ stories, but struggle to be seen and heard?
Do you wish that you could confidently share your stories?
I get it. I used to be so quiet. Sitting listening, but not saying much.
Join me today, as I share three ways I learned to let go of nervous shyness and self-conscious thinking and become a storyteller.
And then let's wind down to the weekend together.
Do you ever feel you're different from other women, because you just don’t enjoy big parties or events?
Wondering why you're not excited when invited to a party or BBQ?
Fed up with freaking out and missing the event when others are excited to have a good time?
If you feel lonely because you're staying home rather than going out, you may think it’s because there's something wrong with you.
The time comes for the party and you just want to stay home and watch your favourite show.
But if you keep staying at home and not socialising, you'll stay lonely and isolated
I've been coaching women over the last 5 years, and one thing I love is to help women like you to overcome the social isolation.
Join me as I tell you about a client who struggled with going out.

Do you feel the tension?
When you pause, do you feel it?
Like you’re always busy? Always on the move?
Like you’re in a race, rushing towards an unseen goal, and you don’t even know where you’re going?
You feel that life is whizzing by. That there are so many expectations and demands from all angles. That you’re expected to be a successful career woman, a caring and supportive Mum, a sexy and attentive partner, a helpful daughter, a fabulous friend, and a social media star – all the while running the household smoothly (shopping, cooking, paying bills, washing, cleaning, tidying) ... Woah!
And yet, I deeply believe that your one precious life is not meant to lived running on a treadmill, feeling exhausted but pushing on regardless.
I believe that it is possible to live with joy and ease, with humour rather than frustration, with flow rather than stress, with lightly held structure rather than overwhelm.
Join me as we explore this today.
P.S. Want to learn simple tools to build calm and conversational confidence? For free? The challenge starts 13 November 2022, and videos can be watched anywhere any time. They will be available to watch for free until 9am 28 November 2022 (Sydney, Australia time)

P.P.S. Remember - Be kind to yourself and trust you can handle it, to enjoy the ride!
When someone invites you to go out , how do you feel?
Are you excited to be going out?
Or did you actually enjoy the pandemic as an excuse to say no to certain invitations?
Nowadays, most people seem to have stopped worrying about covid. And so the social invitations have started flowing again. And that will only increase as we get closer to the festive season.
So I wonder – how are you reacting to that?
If you’re struggling to re-engage socially, I have great news for you. You’re not alone. In fact, it’s so common that there are many psychologists around the world researching this very phenomenon.
Join me today, to get some clarity and then to wind down to the weekend with compassion.
What do you do when you’re feeling anxious?
Do you take a few deep breaths to try to calm down? That’s what we’ve been told to do, right?
And how is that working for you? Over time, are you becoming a calmer person?
Or does that anxiety just keep popping up for you, over and over, day after day?
And why does it do that?
Could it be because you haven’t dealt with the cause of the anxious feelings?
Join me as we explore a better way to handle our feelings, and then as we wind down to the weekend
Do you ever look at other women and wish your life was more like theirs?
Do you see women with a successful career, lovely family, tidy home and fit, healthy-looking body and feel twinges of jealousy?
Do you wonder how they manage to squeeze in all of those things?
If you wake up each morning feeling tired and tense.
If you say to yourself “Here we go again!”
If your day feels like a heavy blanket rather than light and free.
I have great news for you! You can change that, starting today.
Join me for today's top tip, where I’ll unpack that for you, and then as we wind down to the weekend with gratitude and calm.
Is your social life different nowadays, compared to before the pandemic?
Will you be out having fun with family or friends on the weekend?
Or will you be hiding at home?
And are you spending more time at home alone than you would prefer?
According to the research, many people are not connecting to family and friends the way they used to, and this sense of disconnection can cause you to feel lonely or flat. You get to the weekend and part of you wants to be with others, but another part puts on the brakes. It’s all too hard.
If you’re not spending as much time as you’d like with others, having fun together, you’re not alone. Listen to this episode to find out more.
It’s the weekend! Are you ready to have fun?
This evening I’m feeling tired. How about you? We’re not machines. Sometimes we can’t just change gears and suddenly be relaxed and ready to have fun.
So, check in with your body. How are you feeling right now? Are you feeling stressed or worried? Or are you peaceful and relaxed?
The good news is that there are quick, easy ways to relax your body and calm your brain, to stop it whizzing around way after you’ve put your work down.
Are you ready to try a couple of ways? Join me this evening as we play with this together.
Do you sometimes feel like you’re just going through life but it’s become a bit vanilla? A bit ordinary? Like you’d love a spark of colour but you don’t know where to find it?
Today’s hot tip is just for you.
Today I’ll share one of my secret strategies to bringing a bit of colour into your life.
And then let’s wind down to the weekend together, with calm, gratitude, a relaxing body scan and by setting an intention for the weekend.
Do you have a goal – like to eat healthier or get fit or lose weight or get to sleep earlier?
But then do you get diverted from your goal, and find the distractions hard to resist?
For example, do you walk past the chocolate cake on the bench once, twice, three times, but eventually give in and eat some?
Today’s hot tip is just for you.
Do you seem to struggle with the same frustration, again and again?
Do the same sorts of things make you feel anxious or stressed?
Do people all seem to treat you the same way?
Join me as I share exciting results from mindset research, which shows that you can actually change, and as I share the questions to ask yourself to overcome your frustrations so you can keep learning and growing.
I'm cheering you on. You've got this!
Do you sometimes worry that people will laugh at you or criticize you?
Are you scared that, if people knew the real you, they’d be disappointed? Or even shocked?
I get it. And today I offer a tip for you, if you feel there’s something wrong with you. If you worry that you're not as good as other people.
And remember - You're a wonderful woman, just as you are!
