29: What Works vs. What Doesn't in Fitness

Hey guys! In this episode, I discuss three areas where I see a lot of people making mistakes in their fitness journeys. I've been there, done that with each of these topics too, so I'm here to share some wisdom with you: 1) Forever being on some kind of diet and then bingeing off of it 2) Not paying attention to overall caloric intake 3) Putting yourself in a box with how you train If you like this episode, please share it on your social media or with a friend! I'd also really appreciate you for leaving me a review on Apple Podcasts :) You can contact me in the following ways: Email: tayloringfitness@gmail.com IG or Facebook: @tayloringfitness

28: Stop Being Fake

In this episode, I discuss the topic of showing up as your real self, particularly in your online and social media life. I go over why as humans we tend to: -edit pictures to show only the best of our lives -write captions that catch attention rather than inform or educate -share articles on social media that could be untrue just to inflame opinions from the other side of the political spectrum -get anxiety when we spend too much time online and WHY that really is And I talk about why I see this all as wrong. I truly believe that if we could show up as our real selves online and start treating each other with respect, the world and this country could go so much further. The online space isn't going away anytime soon, so we need to learn how to properly treat each other and share our lives with the world so that we can keep moving forwards as a nation. Thank you for listening! If you enjoyed this episode, please share it with a friend or on your own social media, or please write a review on Apple Podcasts if that is your listening platform of choice. 25: The Most Crucial Training Day of Your Week - The Rest Day

In this episode, I dive into: -the importance of females specifically overtraining and under eating and how devastating it can be for our metabolisms -males not growing muscle as quickly due to too much training stimulus and not enough muscular recovery time -burnout when over training which leads to massive food cravings and reliance on stimulants just to get through an average day -how to move out of the stages of burnout and over training and begin to start eating to actually fuel your activity Thanks so much for listening! 24: Becoming the Human You Want to Be

This is some deep stuff so it’s important that we talk about multiple different aspects of this. Here are the areas I dive into today: -Establishing your personal morals. Where do they come from? Do they shift based on who you are around? Are they rock solid when you’re under pressure? Do they come from your own beliefs or your parents’? -Creating your looks. What can you control? Your look is a part of you and gives others the idea of what kind of person you are overall by a first impression. -Relationships, both platonic and romantic: what are your standards? What do you believe in within a romantic relationship? Do you tell your friends everything about you? Why or why not? These are just three areas of life, but I feel like they encompass a lot. 21: Pros and Cons of Hiring a Trainer/Fitness Coach

Pros: You will learn. You will be pushed when you need it. You will likely get out of your normal way of doing things and find new ways that you might like better. You have accountability. You are required to literally show up. You invested yourself financially, and therefore you are more likely to follow through with the plan. You save time you would spend yourself on planning your training and nutrition (depending on the coach). You don’t have to think. You just show up and perform what your coach asks. Your coach most likely knows a lot more than you. Online coaches can do a good amount more for you than in person CPTs. Cons: You have to pay for it. Your coach won’t know right away what plan is best for you and your body. You might get a “bad” coach. You might pay money but it doesn’t guarantee results. You won’t get instant results. Expect to have a coach for a long time—I’d say plan for a year at minimum. You might not get a coach that teaches you. They might just tell you what to do without explaining why. In-gym personal trainers cost way too much money, and most of that money doesn’t even go to the trainer. In-gym CPTs are supervised and make sure that you continually keep paying for programs. On the flip side, online coaches oftentimes keep trying to make you come back to them for everything. They try to make you dependent on them by saying things like “everyone needs a coach.” That’s false. Not everyone needs a coach. Coaches not “graduating” their clients to the real world.

18: Finding a Career You Enjoy

Let me walk you through some lessons I’ve learned. I’m only 26 and have stepped into three entirely different “career arenas” as a full time worker. Although I will highlight some pros and cons of each of the areas I’ve worked in, the main lessons I want you to take away when searching for the right career for you are below: -You have to not dread going to work every day. -You have to want to think about work outside of work at least some of the time. -Go for the best balance you can find of making money and doing what you love. -Listen to your instincts/gut/your heart about a certain job/employer. They’re probably right. -When it’s time to leave, don’t hesitate. -When it’s not time to leave, give your 100% best effort, regardless of whether you enjoy the job or not. In this podcast, we talk about: -How to drop the expectations from other people going into a new year or new season of life. -How I learned in 2019 to stop making a hundred intentions for myself and just let life flow a little more. -How to endure a hard season of life and how to learn while going through it. -How to take back the power of your life and put it into your own hands. Remember, your life is your responsibility. -How to audit your life for people around you who empower you for the better. 16: Creating a Life from which You Don’t Need to Escape

In this episode, we discuss: * Loving your career or your lifestyle * Creating routines that make you consistently take care of yourself * Allowing time for relaxation and rejuvenation * Handling anxiety stemming from not doing the right thing with your life -I like to make podcasts on lessons I’ve already learned. This one I’m currently learning still, and it scares me to talk about it publicly a little bit. -I personally haven’t had the energy to do podcasts much or really talk much to anybody lately. I’ve been burned out all year. This is really me describing what I’ve learned from it all. -I’ve recently started learning what it’s going to take to satisfy me truly: how much money I need to make, how deep my impact reaches, who I want to surround me constantly, what my ideal schedule is, and more. These are keys to creating an ideal life for yourself. -Another lesson I’ve recently learned: constant service to others is not helping me. I need to take care of myself first all the time or I’ll have no energy from which to pour. You can contact me in the following ways: Email: tayloringfitness@gmail.com IG: @tayloringfitness

Body Positivity and Why The Movement Exists

A jumble of my thoughts on this movement. Please be advised: this topic is highly controversial and THIS IS MY EDUCATED OPINION. -You can still love yourself and want to lose weight and improve your health. -Promoting that you are fit and in shape when overweight is just simply not true. -Saying that self love is over-eating on purpose because you feel like it is wrong; loving yourself means taking care of yourself. -BMI doesn’t always equal the truest definition of health, but it is a good start for the average population and it’s time we start realizing that. -I think a lot of people are starting to accept their bodies within this movement—which is great—but I think many of those same people actually WANT to be fit and healthy but may be very stuck or have given up. Don’t stop fighting for what you want. How to Own Your Power

In this episode, I give you my three strategies for learning how to own your power and evolve into the best, most confident version of yourself:  1. Pursue a goal consistently. The essence of what this does is makes you keep a promise to yourself on a steady basis. By doing that, you reinforce your confidence. In yourself. Keeping promises to yourself is just like keeping promises to a friend or family member. When you show up for them when and where you’re supposed to, then begin to really trust that you’ll do what you say you will do, and then grow in confidence in you. The secondary thing that pursuing a goal does for you is that it creates purpose for you. All humans must have a purpose or we become bored and get into trouble. Having a purpose and knowing what you’re good at gives you a reason to get up in the morning and keep trying hard.  2. Observe criticism of your decisions without taking it to heart. This is EVERYTHING because most of the time when we don’t own our power, it’s because we’re giving it simultaneously to someone else rather than holding it as our own.  3. Own your moves. This is the biggest power move you can do. Search your own soul before you take a step and do what YOU want. So many people don’t know what they want because they’re just listening to the voices of those who normally influence them. Stop being influenced.  You can connect with me in the following ways:   Email: tayloringfitness@gmail.com      Website: https://tayloringfitness.com/  Instagram: @tayloringfitness      Snapchat: @tayloringfit      Twitter: @tayloringfit      Facebook: Tayloring Fitness and The Official Tay's Fit Clique
