10th exchange: Agility doesn´t match New Work
Description
Agility as well as New Work have become an integral part of today’s business vocabulary. While Agility features at least some definitions and known frameworks like Scrum, the term “New Work” seems to be like a container. Everybody puts in what he/she might understand it to mean. Additionally, there are two perspectives from which the term “New Work” can be looked at: the employer and the employee side. Eventually, this leads to two different meanings.
In this podcast, Michael and Nadja discuss about the fact that the values of New Work and Agility actually don´t go together that well. The fact that Agility requires clearly defined frameworks, daily routines and strict rules does not match the fundamental idea of “New Work”.
The discussion summarizes that both ideologies are compatible in principle, but it requires much more than just adopting a predefined framework to make it work. Listen to the entire discussion on iTunes or podigee.
