The Passage: Luke 18.1-18
The One Thing: Better Than An Unjust Judge
Know Christ as King
K1 What does this parable reveal about the heart and character of Jesus compared to the unjust judge? How does seeing Jesus as compassionate and attentive reshape the way we approach Him in prayer?
K2 Jesus asks, “When the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?” (v.8). What kind of faith is He looking for, and how can we cultivate that kind of steady trust in Him today?
Grow In Groups
G1 Why do you think Jesus emphasizes persistence in prayer? Share a time when you had to keep praying even when you didn’t see results right away. What did you learn about God in that season?
G2 In what ways can we encourage one another to keep praying and believing together as a group or church? How might community help us not “lose heart”?
Show Up and Serve
S1 How does Jesus’ concern for justice inspire us to act when we see others being treated unfairly? What does it look like to be part of God’s answer to someone else’s cry for help?
S2 If Jesus is better than a reluctant judge, what might it look like for us to reflect His responsiveness and compassion in our daily interactions? How can we be more quick to listen, care, and respond to others in need?
